To some of you purists, this may be hard to consider...
On CMT Bluegrass Wednesday night: Bill Monroe- Father of Bluegrass.
They spoke of how Monroe created this new sound by energizing the music (folk/hillbilly?) with speed. Further reporting, "...without Bill Monroe, there would be no Bluegrass."
I say, without Earl's new style of banjo, there would be no Bluegrass -- at least, not as we know it.
Traditional Bluegrass: Lightening fast banjo, with all others trying to keep-up.

When I think of Bluegrass, I think of Banjo.
When I think of Banjo, I think of Earl.
