My father, Carl Pearson has a banjo that was left to him by his father J.P Pearson. My grandfather always claimed that this banjo belonged to Earl when he was a boy. My grandfather and my father grew up in the Flinthill area, N.C. where Earl was from. My grandfather said he knew him and a lot of his family as they lived near them. A lot of the Scrugs have married into our family. It has been said that this banjo was one that Earl learned to play on. My father would like to get it confirmed by Earl that this was indeed his banjo at one time. We would like to pursue the possibility of donating this banjo to the Hall Of Fame in Nashville. I would appreciate it if someone could contact me on how to go about getting Earl to confirm what we know about this banjo.
