Hello Earl and Louise,
You have a great web site. Looking foreward to all
the news and stories to come. Back in 1979 The Earl
Scruggs Revue played here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. My
folks drove me 3 hours from Mason City to see and hear
you. It was a wonderful concert that night.
Earl and the Boys had the crowd eating out of their hands.
I remember the wonderful licks he was picking on Wooden Nickles
and The Carolina Boogie. Years later I drove to Columbus,
Ohio to see Earl play at the Bluegrass Classic. It was
very hot there and that did not stop Earl from giving a
great show. You could hardly hear him play at times. Every
time he would take a break the place went wild! It was
worth the long trip to Ohio and back to Iowa. This year
I went to Nashville for the SPBGMA events in February.
My friends Chuck and Diane Stearman, Rhonda Vincent,
Leroy Troy and others have always told me to go to it. I am
happy I went for this time I met Earl and Louise.
This was the first time I had a chance ever to
do this in all my 25 years of banjo picking. The
Earl Scruggs Revue has always been a favorite of mine.
I appreciate what Earl and Louise have done for music..all types.
Earl and his Sons set the path for what we now hear on modern country
radio. I also have enjoyed Earl's solo albums. Louise
told me there will be a new album soon. We will be waiting
here in Iowa! I hope I have the chance to met you kind
folks again. Again, thanks for the great music though the years.
