I saw Earl and friends tonight! They were doing some serious picking. Gary, Glen Duncan, Jerry Douglas, Albert Lee, John Jorgenson, a drummer, and acoustic guitar player who's names escape me just now. But Earl did some fancy guitar picking including "You Are My Flower" and "Paul and Silas" which had me slobbering all over myself! He played several of the old F&S trademark songs, including "Sally Goodin" and "Reuben". UNC-TV videotaped parts of Merlefest, and I'm sure our favorite banjo picker will make the cut. The "Friends" were hotter than a two dollar pistol on Saturday night. If you missed this you missed something really good.
