Just bought the "Earl Scruggs and Friends this morning and am listening to it for the second time-You are still the greatest ! Ques: What banjo are you playbg on this CD ? Sounds more mellow than the other recording of yours ?
Ironically, I lost my son Steve, last May 10, 2001, after a 5 year struggle with a brian tumor. Steve had a masters degree in percussion and was loved by all of his 50 drum students. I will send you a copy of his Christian music CD that he got back two weeks before he died at home with us. He has left us a beautiful legacy.
I tired to learn the "scruggs" style in the 60's and gave up, but bought another banjo last fall and am giving it another try. I particularily love bluegrass gospel music. My banjo is an old "Bowtie" with a new neck by the guy who does the necks for new Gibson's. Has a nice sound for what I paid. Hope you get to Wisconsin again soon !
