Earl's performance at the Opry Sat. had it all! All of
us "oldtimers" got a treat by seeing and hearing Earl do those things we have enjoyed through the years
and the newer fans of this great artist got to experience some of the talents of this great man that they may not have been aware of. In addition to his
unsurpassed banjo work, we got to experience his
groundbreaking guitar style! Before guitar was a
regular lead instrument in bu,there was Earl showing
us all how it should be done! It might be "Cannonball blues", Jimmy Brown or you are my flower, he got
so many of us to start picking those licks! One of my
favorite memories from is seeing Earl raise that black and white guitar up to his ear and start into one of
classic tunes! What is your favorite guitar cut that
Earl did? Cannonball blues is mine!
