Hello all you Scruggs fans,
I had the chance to go to the PBS tapping at the Ryman in Nashville Wednesday 1/16/02 and Earl and his boys were the high point of the show for me. There were some great moments with all the talent at the show but not having seen Earl and the boys live since 1972, I was really most impressed by the band. It is so great to see a talent like Earl not only still out there playing but being so progressive and not just riding on past success.
For those of you who aren't aware of the show it will broadcast 2/10/02 in Nashville and around mid March for the rest of the country. Watch you local Public Broadcasting station for information. It was produced by the people at Austin City Limits. The talent was amazing and historical with everyone from Rickie Scaggs and Vince Gill to Ralph Stanley and Del McCoury to Allison Krauss and Nickle Creek. Bruce Hornsby, Travis Tritt and Patty Lovelace were bonus.
You don't want to miss this broadcast.
