Earl, I want to add my best wishes on your new album. I got a copy at Borders the day it was released. I think it’s extraordinary. Your picking is still astonishingly clear and even and what else can be said about your timing and unique ability to "carry the melody". Without question you are the master of the 5-string melody. I cannot believe how incredible that 1934 Granada sounds. That low D string makes the hair on back of my neck stand up. How about selling it to me? Ha Ha. Again congratulations on the album. I particularly like that bluesy, funky foggy mountain rock/special duet with Marty Stuart. As a bluegrass aficionado and “closet picker” it’s refreshing to hear the 5-string outside its conventional realm.
