Following is the obitiuary from the March 28, 2003 edition of "The Tennessean":

Certain, Mamie A. - Age 98. March 26, 2003. She was a member of Grant Baptist Church in Grant, TN and had lived in Madison, TN since 1983. Mrs. Certain was preceded in death by her husband, Ewing Certain.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Earl Scruggs of Nashville; grandsons, Gary and Randy Scruggs of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Jesse Scruggs of Johnson City, TN, Jaime and Lindsey Scruggs of Nashivlle, and Melissa and Jennifer Scruggs of Kansasville, WI.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the BROADWAY CHAPEL, 1715 Broadway, Nashville, TN. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2003 at the funeral home, and on Saturday, from 12 Noon until the time of the service.

Following the service, Internment will be at the Bethlehem Cemetary, on Trousdale Ferry Road, in the Tuckers Crossroad Community near Lebanon.

Pallbearers are Gary Scruggs, Jesse Scruggs, Jaime Scruggs, Randy Scruggs, Hugh Howell and Eddie Stubbs.
