I came upon this website after many years away from the Scruggs brothers and was pleasantly surprised to find an interest in "Lowlands"...one of my favorite songs. I have a couple of corrections to the lyrics which I remember from the 1972 album...
"The train is leaving shortly, there's no time for delay"
"We gathered the cattle which had scattered 'cross the fields..."
"...the crops all went away..." This is how we sang them anyway... enjoy this great song!
