Dear Sir,

I have the pleasure of being the oldest (35) of Snuffy's (Papa) two grand-daughters. I summited a message on the board very shortly after she died, possibly July 23 to July 30, 2002.

I believe what my mother meant to follow up on was this comment: "Snuffy's widow, Margaret Jenkins, passed away on July 23, 2002 in Columbia SC".
We wanted Earl to know this because Snuffy and Earl were friends as well as influences. When my Papa (Snuffy) died I believe he called personally as well as called in live to the local TV station WIS-TV in Columbia, SC, as they dedicated an hour long morning show on his passing. He, as well as "THE HIRED HANDS" had a program on WIS Radio in Columbia, SC (before TV). Earl had some very fine things to say to us and on the program and we wanted to thank him for his kindness.

I also wonder if Earl has a copy of "Snuffy Jenkins the Pioneer of Blugrass Banjo", which can be sent to him, gladly E-Mailing me Teri Jenkins-White at MYSUGGIE@aol.com, or by E-Mailing my father, Toby Jenkins, Snuffy's son at YBOYSNIK@aol.com, Arhoolie Records is the label it was recorded under in case he needed to go that route.

In April (unsure of date yet), the McKissick Musuem in Columbia, SC is having an ehxibit and exibition on Snuffy Jenkins and Pappy Sherill that we would love for him to attend. Harold and Randy Lucas and what is left of "The Hired Hands" will perform. Please let us know if we can provide any additional info on Snuffy.

Thank You,

Teri Jenkins-White
