Hi Taylor-
Man thats a great album! I had to get it out and listen to it tonight. Its one of their finest in my opinion. I just love hearing and picking to "King Blue", "Are My Thoughts With You"....wonderful picking with Josh and Earl on this. His banjo break is outstanding. "Good Morning Sundown"....a great instrumental. "Back Door Lover,Ain't Got No Cover"....great blues number. I know there are lots of younger banjo players out there who never had the chance to see Earl's Revue. They were such a wonderful band. Such variety and musicianship. I encourage them to get and hear all the music they can of them. This was such a exciting period for Earl. I had the chance to see them once. They really never got this way too often. I still remember the concert like it was yesterday. I can still hear the roar of the crowd when he layed into his break on "Wooden Nickels". Garys great singing, Randy's picking, Jim's steel work, Steve's keyboard and sax breaks. Taylor's percussion work. LORDY it was great! There was something special to hear them live for they did tunes that never were put on a record such as "Pretty Boy Floyd". I hope some day there might be a box set of the Revue for all to enjoy. This would be a treasure for any banjo picker and Earl Scruggs fan.
