In the 1960's on the old Martha White Grand Ole Opry, Grandpa Jones was the guest on one particular show. The following tune, in the middle break, Earl gets a big smile and frails the last couple of measures on the tune. I was about as faithful a viewer as they had, and it was the only time I ever heard him frail a lick. He was pretty fluent at it, so I would guess that he could flog it right up there next to the dedicated frailers.
