Thanks for the info. I'm never quite sure who started what, when. Your post seems correct to me. It reminds me the question about who is the Father of bluegrass, Bill Monroe or Bill Monroe and Earl Scruggs with his style of three finger banjo picking and his seamless rolls. I Guess in the end it doesn't matter too much. We still have Earl to listen to. He's still got that magic "pop" in his playing.

I got to meet and talk to Don Reno as a young boy at Rising Sun Ranch in Maryland. He was very bright and kind, and what an incredible player he was. I think Don brought the banjo to modern audiences.....tks again........Jack Baker
